Originally used in hospitals to purify the air, the fragrance lamps are fitted with a platinum coated catalytic flame burner which rapidly diffuses the fragranced oil in to the atmosphere. The fragrance oils contain 90% isopropyl alcohol. Due to the design of the catalytic burner some of the alcohol base of the oil is able to pass through the system in to the air without being combusted, and this is broken into ultra fine particles and diffused rapidly through the air, purifying the air.
